How do we develop and pay for better services for people with a mental health need? And how might a Big Society approach help?

We've had discussions with a lot of people in the mental health sector in Leeds in recent months - and a common theme has been around how we can pay for services that people want and need - in a context of tightening budgets and big changes in how mental health services are delivered.

In the light of these discussions, we've invited Mark Brown, Editor of One in Four magazines, and his colleague David Floyd, Managing Director of Social Spider CIC to Leeds to talk about a think-piece they have recently written for the NHS Confederation into Big Society and mental health services.

After a presentation from Mark and David, we'll have plenty of time for discussion - in particular focusing on any implications of the issues raised in the think-piece for the mental health sector in Leeds.
